Introduction Ghorepani Punhill Trek

Ghandruk Ghorepani trekking is in Annapurna region, which is north-central part of Nepal. Ghorepani and Ghandruk are the two separate villages. Ghorepani is famous for rhododendron forest as well as the fantastic panoramic sunrise, sunset view from Pun Hill 3210 meters which is one hour climbing from Ghorepani.

Ghandruk is a popular tourist place for trekkers in Annapurna area of Nepal, with easy trails and various accommodation possibilities, Gurung culture, Monastery, best views of the Annapurna Mountains including a beautiful massif view of Machhapuchhare, call “Fishtail” from Ghandruk.

Ghandruk Ghorepani trek offer the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars, dense rhododendron forest full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna’s with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) dominating the skyline. One of the important highlights of this trip is to make a claim on Pun Hill, possibly the Most Spectacular Mountain scrapes on Earth. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe. Beautiful and ornate village of Ghandruk, home of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Gurung Museum, culture and custom, Monastery are interesting to visit. Every day at 3PM you have a chance to visit the ACAP project to discover at first hand the conservation work being carried out in Ghandruk

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara to Nayapul (1,050 m), and trek to Tikhedunga(1,530 m)

Today is the first exciting day of the trek!

After an early breakfast, you’ll be greeted and picked up you from your hotel and drive to Nayapul by a taxi, Nayapul is a small city located at the north-west of Pokhara where the trek begins towards Tikhedunga/Ulleri. after one hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul.we then follow the trail ascending through forests of rhododendron, magnolia, and garlands, until you reach the villages of Hile and Tikhedunga. walking through these Gurung and Thakali villages, which gives you an opportunity to learn the local culture, as well as lifestyle with the magnificent overlooking views of the mountains and green valley!

Day 2: Thikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Today is the second day of the trek,

After having a great breakfast in Tikhedunga, we will continue on a trek towards the most beautiful place of Ghorepani via several beautiful villages of Ulleri and Bhanthatihi. The hike today from Tikhedunga to Ghorepani is mostly climbing on stone stairs through rhododendron forests teeming with exotic birds but it is worth trek with great sceneries.

Upon arrival, you will be truly surprised by the breathtaking views of the magnificent mountains that surround you at Ghorepani where you’ll have overnight stayed.

Day 3: Hike to Poon Hill, trek from Ghorepani to Tadapai

Today is the third day the trek- an exciting day to see the sunrise over the Himalayas.

Early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m) about 40 minutes hike from your lodge at Ghorepani. Views from Poon Hill are truly spectacular, you’ll see fantastic panoramic mountain views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchare, Nilgiri, and many other, mountain ranges,  the sunrise is breathtaking. you will be greatly pleased with this stunning view of the sunrise on the top of the majesty mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Having an excursion hike to Poon Hill for the views then we come back to the Ghorepani at the same lodge to have breakfast and ready for a couple of hours hike towards Ghorepani, the trail takes you up the hill through dense forest Deurali and then descending to Tadapani.

Day 4: Tadapani to Ghandruk village

Today like a rest day . we just walk 2 hours until Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a popular tourist place for trekkers in Annapurna area of Nepal, with easy trails and various accommodation possibilities, Gurung culture, Monastery, best views of the Annapurna Mountains including a beautiful massif view of Machhapuchhare, call “Fishtail” from Ghandruk.

Day 5: Ghandruk to pokhara 

It’s your last day on the trek! Take your time and enjoy those views when you wake up. Don’t rush to set off as the walking is easy and buses to Pokhara plentiful. Soak it in before heading back to civilisation! It’s take 4 hours to Nayapul.
