Overview
The Upper Mustang Trek is a journey into the former Kingdom of Lo, a high-altitude desert of ochre cliffs, wind-carved canyons and Tibetan Buddhist culture hidden behind the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Entering the restricted area at Kagbeni, the trail passes the villages of Chele, Syangboche, Ghami and Charang before reaching Lo Manthang (3,840 m), the ancient walled capital. Beyond it lie the sky caves of Chhoser and Nyphu, monasteries and the ruined forts of a lost kingdom. The landscape is stark and beautiful, with views of Nilgiri, Tilicho and the Damodar Himal.

The Annapurna I Base Camp Trek, also known as the North Annapurna Base Camp or Narchyang Trail, is a short but adventurous route to the north face of Annapurna I (8,091 m), the first 8,000-metre peak ever climbed. Starting from Narchyang near Tatopani in Myagdi district, the trail follows the Myagdi River through rhododendron forests, waterfalls and the remote Panchakunda (five sacred lakes) before reaching the base camp at 4,190 m. Unlike the crowded Annapurna Sanctuary route, this is a quiet camping trek with raw alpine scenery and very few other trekkers.
